Song of the Week.

Catchy tune. It wouldn't let me embed the music video - you can see it here.

Clever Commercial.

Joe and I both got a kick out of this commercial the first time we saw it...

Suzi and Jon visit!

On Saturday morning, Suzi and Jon arrived and we played a few games of Sequence (great game) before we headed to the Penguins' hockey game. After the Pens won, we went to the Strip District to show them the eclectic stores - we bought edibles from Fudgie Wudgie, Pittsburgh Popcorn and various ingredients for dinner. We had prosciutto, asparagus and cheese crepes while we watched the March Madness basketball. All in all it was a good day!

Today, we came up to New Castle so Suzi and Jon could experience a Patrick Poker weekend. Unfortunately, no one was able to make anything happen. We had an intramural soccer game that Suzi and Jon played in as well. Fun weekend!

Mon Aimee Chocolat.

Joe and I went to the Strip District to get some fresh fish for dinner and couldn't resist making a stop in Mon Aimee. We had always walked quickly past the chocolate shop, not wanting to risk temptation. This time we caved but behaved quite well in perspective to the damage that potentially could have been done. Surrounded by sweets we managed to only purchase chocolate covered espresso beans and a variety pack of malted milk balls. The malt balls are amazing! They came in all sorts of flavors - lemon chiffon and mint chocolate chip surprised me the most. We still have many different flavors to try...

Restaurant review.

Joe and I went to a business dinner last night at a new Chinese restaurant called Jimmy Wan's (not much of a website to look at, but if you're in the area at least you can find it). I had some delicious Miso Chilean Sea Bass and the Pork Dumplings were incredibly tasty! The food took a little long but was worth the wait in my opinion.

Suzi sent this to me - I thought it would be fun to share: screen cleaner.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

After work today, Joe and I decided to stop at Claddagh Irish Pub for a pint on the way home to celebrate Joe's ancestors. However, when we got to the South Side Works where the pub is located, we noticed that the construction on the Hofbrauhaus was finally done and it was open! German beer and Bratwurst - Joe couldn't resist! Forget his heritage - we will celebrate my german ancestry instead! We got seats at the bar and enjoyed a liter (a huge mug!) of beer as well as some German sausages and watched the after-work crowd fill up the restaurant/bar.

A win at the Wynn!

Mr. Patrick finished second Saturday night in the 2k event at the Wynn Classic! It was quite a feat after coming into the event in 10th out of 15. He won 73.8k! We are heading home tomorrow morning - it's going be hard to get back on the right sleeping schedule.

Joe the Bubble Boy.

After 13 hours of playing poker, Joe busted just two before the money. This is one of the most frustrating things in poker since you play for so long but yet get nothing - you might as well have busted first and gone on with your day. On a brighter note, Joe's dad has made the money and continued on to Day 2. There are 15 people left and he is probably in 10th. Play resumes at 4 PM Vegas time (that's 7 o'clock EST). Hopefully he can take it down!

In Vegas.

After a five hour flight last night, Joe, his parents and I made it to Las Vegas! Mrs. Patrick and I will be enjoying the 70 degree weather while Joe and his dad play the Wynn Poker Classic. Hopefully they can "Win at the Wynn" (I know, that was a good one! ha). It will be a lot nicer to walk the strip in this cooler weather rather than the 100 degrees it usually is in the summer. We will be returning to Pittsburgh on Monday - it should be a very enjoyable long weekend.

New Job Descriptions.

My work will consist of setting up and maintaining the inventory database for IronMaster Metals. This way, I (or a co-worker) will add new materials to the database when they come into the warehouse. I will use my anal personality to help organize some of the daily functions.

Joe is responsible for sorting, recording and identifying materials within the warehouse so that they can be transferred to the inventory database. He will assist in preparing shipments and general warehouse management.

We are real business people now! As time goes on, our job descriptions will adapt depending on the business needs.

A Job Transition.

A few weeks back, Joe and I started discussing how we didn't feel that Cityzens was giving us quite the job satisfaction that we had hoped for when we had started. Our two co-workers, who started Cityzens, are truly passionate about their work and we realized we didn't feel the same way. We felt that our tasks were occasionally menial and we weren't contributing much to the company.

Joe started working for his Dad two days a week and last week we let our co-workers know that we were interested in phasing out. The next post will detail our job descriptions and what our new responsibilities will be...TO BE CONTINUED...

PJ the pug.

Jon's dog dressed up Friday night. We should have taken video of him walking in his red shoes - it was quite a spectacle. PJ is a very cute and friendly pug!

Go Cavs!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon/evening in Solon - we had dinner at the Rusty Bucket with my parents, Suzi's parents, Suzi and Jon. Tonight we will be going to the Cleveland Caveliers game with Joe's parents. We are taking Mrs. Patrick as her birthday gift (her birthday was last week). My parents will be coming with us to dinner at Hyde Park downtown before we go to the game. It should be a fun evening!

We are worldly.

Joe and I have a new routine. We have been DVR-ing the evening news and then watching it later in the night. It's a good habit since it keeps us abreast of the worldly ongoings which is particularly important and interesting in this economy. We are ready for adult conversations...

P.S. The title of this post is a tounge twister - seriously, try to say it outloud.

Dayton

We made a trip to Dayton, Ohio this weekend for my Grandma's Memorial Service. It was a very nice weekend though - my extended family that I had never met before came from all over (Arizona, Texas, Kansas and Missouri) as well as the usual Hahn Family, also from an array of states (Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and of course, Pennsylvania!). The service was held at the church my grandma had gone to for over 60 years! We stayed the night at a lodge just outside Columbus which allowed the family to spend more time together. Grandma would have enjoyed this weekend.
