Mac or no?

I updated my windows vista service pack recently. It asked me to reboot afterward but it never turned back on. I haven't been able to turn it on in safe mode or anything so a system restore isn't really an option. Neither Joe or I have been able to fix it or find anything about how to fix it. Any computer geniuses out there that can help? Otherwise (and I not so secretly want this) I would have to get a new computer...

I've been considering going to a Mac, but I'm afraid of change. I'd have to learn the new interface but I'm sure I could handle it. Thoughts on getting a Mac?

Yardwork.

Joe, his dad and I headed down to Pittsburgh this morning to finally take care of a jungle at our house on the market. Let's just say the curb appeal wasn't non-existent. Evidently, we hadn't made it down there for awhile. Here are some before and after pictures:

Looks a little better, right?

Greyson Chance

This is a 12 year-old who was on The Ellen DeGerneres Show this past week (I like her show). I thought he was very talented especially for his age. His song starts at the 40 second mark.

Frustration that this video is not the size I would like.

Summerish afternoon.

Since Joe was gone Monday and Tuesday for some business meetings, we planned some fun activities upon his return. After work, we quickly changed and headed to the golf course. Joe was especially excited about this since he hasn't been golfing as frequently as he would like. Then we came home to grill out some burgers. It was a wonderful summer-like evening!

Ryan & Holly's Wedding.

Joe and I enjoyed our weekend up in Erie, PA for my cousin's wedding. Although the weather was bad, the ceremony was beautiful and the reception a blast.

My cousins' very cute girls.

Also...

I just read this quote on the bottom of my Honest Tea lid and thought I would share:

"We must be willing to let go of the life we've planned to have the life that is waiting for us."

Quarter Century Mark.

Well I'm a quarter century old as of today. Birthdays aren't so exciting when it doesn't lead to anything new you can do. Joe and I did celebrate last night - he took me to dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Pittsburgh and then to see Ironman 2 at the Loew's theater (he even splurged to get us the VIP seats = comfy leather).

It is also Mr. Patrick's birthday today so we will probably all go out to dinner tonight.

We are nomads.

If you have not heard already, Joe and I are considering moving to the Cleveland area. With the new acquisition of the chemical plant in Wickliffe, it made sense. I'm excited to move back and be closer to friends and family. We are currently looking for homes in Solon, Moreland Hills, Orange, and Pepper Pike. We have been looking for about a month and have not found anything quite yet.

Giveaway!

My friend, Nicole from Busy Girl, has an excellent giveaway of a $40 gift certificate to CSN Stores. I just so happened to be lucky win one of her giveaways not too long ago! Wanted to pass along the opportunity to others...

Game 7.

Joe, his dad and brother and I went to Game 7 of the Penguins v. the Canadiens hockey game last night. It was disappointing. The Canadiens scored a goal within the first minute of play and the Pens were behind the rest of the night. The final score was 5-2. Despite the result, it was still a lot of fun! Maybe next year...

2 peas in a pod.

Suzi was kind (and brave) enough to watch Bailey for me while I was at Nicole's Bridal shower on Saturday afternoon. She has a pug, named PJ, who puts up with Bailey's high energy and non-stop attacks. Here is a picture of them after a day of play!

Solon again!

I am in Solon again this weekend. The main reason: Nicole's wedding shower which starts in about a half hour! It should be a fun afternoon.

P.S. Suzi - good luck babysitting Bailey! :)

Punks.

I went to pick up Bailey from Joe's parents house this afternoon. I played with Bailey in the backyard for about 10 minutes then we headed out to the car to go home. We were greeted by this:

I wasn't sure whether to be mad or not? I was in awe. I had 2 scenarios play in my head:

  1. The little weasels were hiding somewhere in the bushes snickering at me. I see them, chase them down and tackle one of them.
  2. I follow the trail of silly string to their home and then I do what? Call them all big meanies?

In the end, the driveby silly string attack wasn't all that hard to clean up and certainly spiced up the day!

An update.

I had a wonderful weekend in Solon. On Friday, my parents held a party for some neighbors that moved back to their home country of Switzerland quite a few years ago. It was nice to see them after such a long time!

Saturday morning I had fun helping Amy prepare for Nicole's Bridal Shower that is coming up next weekend. I spent Saturday evening at Suzi's house watching the Cavs beat the Celtics! Sunday I went out to breakfast with Nicole, Amy and Megan (another Bridesmaid!). Overall it was a very entertaining weekend!
