Should we get a puppy?

Joe and I have been thinking about getting a dog since the Fall. We thought it would be best to at least wait until the Spring. This way we would have really thought about it and wouldn't be taking on such a responsibility on a whim.

However, we are still up in the air about it. We love the idea but don't know if we want to be tied down quite yet. We usually work from home so at least we would be there to take him out and play with him occasionally. But, when we do work a long day away from home, I wouldn't feel right about leaving him in a crate or home alone. Thoughts? (Or just vote in the poll to the right). If we were to get a puppy though, it would be a puggle (pug x beagle). Pretty cute!

that dog is sooo cute! i've never heard of that!

dogs are adorable, but SOOO much work. we don't have one b/c we don't want to have to pay for kennels and stuff when we travel. and take it outside when its -30.

maybe in a few years....

adam and i were the same way right before we got ricki, but once we saw him we KNEW we had to rescue him!

if you train the dog really well then you don't have to leave him in a crate all day. i leave ricki home for about 13 hours a day during the work week and he does really well! as for traveling, well, if you have some family members or friends who are in LOVE with your puppy, you never have a problem finding someone to watch him :) it's a lifestyle adjustment at first, but after a few months you don't really remember what life was like before you had to go outside when it's 20 degrees so your dog can pee on every single bush.

i say go for it! especially if joe is going to be traveling or anything for work. it's so nice to have someone at home to cuddle with!

btw that dog is ADORABLE!
